How to find your correct inline skate / rollerblade size?
For the best performance, inline skates should have a snug fit. It's not necessary to buy inline skates one size larger than your actual foot size; as they break in, all inline skates will expand and widen over time. Please note that everyone has their own measure of comfort, thus please make your final decision also considering your past experience with shoes you are wearing on daily basis. It's important to know that soft boots will expand more than hybrid (Swell etc.) or carbon boots. While we would never recommend any free space and feet movement in soft boot skates, then hardboot skates actually allow more space and comfort level given the improved support of the skate shell.
3 easy steps to measure your feet:
1. Place and fix an A4 sheet flush against a straight wall. Wear your usual skating socks for more accurancy and place your foot on the sheet, with your heel touching the wall, make sure your heel touches the wall without any pressure. | 2. Stand relaxed upon the foot you are measuring. Then, draw a line at your big toe and when marking make sure to hold the pencil vertically to prevent any deviation. It's easiest to ask a friend to draw the line for more precision. Measure the length of the paper to the line: that's your mondopoint size. TIP: For the best fit, measure your foot after a short skating session or at the end of the day. | 3. Do the same for the other foot and compare measurements. The correct size that you should end up with is the length of your longer foot. Now with those measurements, you can take the correct size from our size charts. |
+ Less vibration and more speed. Three bigger wheels roll better on uneven and bumpy surfaces. They have less risk to stop on small stones. You can skate faster with three bigger wheels! Sure, speed won't instantly increase, but you can accelerate to faster speed and keep up the pace easier with bigger wheels. + Easier turns and better control. Three wheel skates or Triskates middle wheel act as pivot point for easier turns. On four wheel skates this pivot point is distributed within both middle wheels, thus difference in turning ability is quite significant. Making turns does not necessarily mean turning in crossroads, in fact each stride consist of turning/pivoting your skate in right direction from inside out. + Less parts and cost effective. Not everyone thinks about skate maintenance when buying new skates. Changing wheels or buying new bearings is unavoidable if you are skating regularly. Keep in mind - less wheels/bearings result in less $pending! + Less weight. Three same size wheels weigh less than four- easy as that! Every wheel contains two bearings and wheel is fixed with steel axle. These are main parts that weigh the most on your skates, thus 3 wheel skates are just lighter. - Higher from the ground. As one of the most advanced brands Powerslide tends to make their skates with lowest center of gravity possible. All skate manufacturers give preference to THREE BIGGER wheel advantages, instead of resigning with three small wheels. For instance, adult fitness skates feature 90mm smallest size on three wheel skates all the way up to 125mm. Sure, most likely skates with 90mm wheels will stand little higher from the ground than four 80 or 84mm. ⓘ Conclusion. You get more with less! With 3 wheel skates you don't have to be afraid choosing skates with bigger size wheels. Beginner will easily handle up to 110mm three wheel skates. For those who are not so sure about their stability on inline skates, we recommend choosing 80-84mm four wheel setup or up to 90mm three wheel setup. By choosing any wheel combination inline skates with plastic hardboot design, stability and control over skates increase and you can go with even bigger wheels. |
