Bearings for scooter wheels
Scooter bearings compatible with all scooters in the world - meets 608 size standard (8x22x7mm). We offer ABEC, ILQ and bearings from the best brands - Wicked, Ethic, Tilt, Core. Apex, Titen, Twincam etc. Bearings are essential to keep your scooter wheels spinning smoothly and without noise!
How to choose scooter bearings?
Our #1 advice - choose quality bearings! The most important thing when choosing bearings is their quality - the quality of the materials, machining, construction and lubricants used. It's high-quality bearings that will spin freely, quietly and last a long time.
The most common bearings in the scooter industry are the 608 size (8x22x7mm) ABEC standard ball bearings. The ABEC standard determines the bearing dimensions and tolerances. A larger number after ABEC means more precise manufacturing of the bearing so that all dimensions are as close as possible to the specified ABEC standard. An ABEC1 bearing is capable of functioning without interference at speeds of several hundred km/h! Are ABEC1 bearings worse or slower than ABEC5, ABEC7 or ABEC9? Not exactly! The ABEC standard does not determine bearing speed or quality. The number after ABEC (Annular Bearing Engineering Committee) is not the speed, number of bearing balls, etc. How do bearings affect speed? The short answer is very little or almost none if they spin freely without any resistance. Unfortunately, bearings and measuring by ABEC numbers is the biggest indication of marketing or lack of knowledge.
Lubricants used in bearings. Bearings use a variety of oils and greases to prevent overheating, increase wear resistance, and protect against the harmful effects of water, corrosion and dirt. Bearings with synthetic oil generally rotate with less friction due to the thinner oil film. This is usually the best choice for maximum free spin. The grease used in bearings is thicker than the oil and therefore has other qualities, such as better protection against wet and dirt. High quality greases (Kyodo grease, etc.) can make bearings rotate without noticeable resistance and also retain all the good qualities of grease. If there is no oil or grease in the bearings, they will wear out quickly and have to be replaced.
