How to choose stunt scooter?
Choose your scooter depending on its purpose. Absolutely any stunt scooter will be perfect for daily use as a form of transportation. For this, we recommend that the overall height of the scooter is chosen so that the hands on the bars are in a relaxed position and your back is not bent.
Park and street are the two main categories of stunt scooters. Both are designed for doing tricks in skateparks, but the difference is in the type of tricks and therefore the equipment of these scooters. Park style scooters are mostly used for tricks involving ramps in skateparks. Various tricks and jumps are performed where the lighter weight of the scooter plays a big role. Park scooters are therefore generally smaller, narrower, lighter and often use aluminium handlebars to reduce their overall weight as much as possible. Park scooter bars are usually slightly shorter to make it easier to perform tricks involving spinning of the bars and deck. Street style scooters are also used in the skateparks and out in the streets, but the tricks are more focused on sliding and jumping, and do not involve a lot of flipping on ramps. Riders on street scooters perform the same tricks on the streets (hence the name Street), where they are challenged to new levels of durability - various curbs, rails and jumps from high heights. These scooters are usually bigger, wider, have rectangular shape deck, have higher handlebars and, of course, are notably heavier. These scooters are also much more stronger and reliable, as they are designed for much greater abuse.
Hybrid style scooters are a combination of Park + Street. For riders who have not yet decided which direction to take or for those who want to combine both riding styles. Hybrid stunt scooters usually have a rectangular deck shape and the choice of handlebars + compression is an individual preference for each rider.
All park, street and hybrid scooters have compatible parts. All replacement parts are available and standardized as much as possible to be compatible with each other. You never have to worry about parts availability. One of the important features of stunt scooters is the small wheels with an aluminium rim - for better stability and to withstand the considerable stress.
Off-road style scooters have large air inflated tyres. You can ride a scooter equipped like this on a gravel road, use it for a variety of downhill rides or perform tricks on BMX tracks. These scooters are also good for day-to-day use, but be aware that rubber wheels will never roll as freely as polyurethane. The advantages are a much softer ride and much better grip even on varying surfaces.
Stunt scooters are perfect for everyday use, because driveability is just so much better and precise in comparison with easy foldable kick scooters. All stunt scooter parts are secure and tight, so there wouldn't be any wobble or excess play. This is exactly what makes stunt scooter ride quality so much more enjoyable. Parents, please don't buy your kids scooter with big wheels! Why? Smaller wheels allow to ride easier and they accelerate so much better! Big wheel advantage is mostly in top speed. Is your child in a rush? Wobbly scooters are just not stable with big wheels and not the best solution for uneven surfaces. Big wheel scooters are higher from the ground and it creates even more asymmetry, when kids are reaching ground with their feet. Smaller 110mm wheels are the ones which makes ride more fun and they give more control over scooter itself.
